Jr-Sr High School News

It is hard to believe that we have already finished the first marking period of school and the holidays are just around the corner. Report cards were sent out to families securely on Parent Square. They can also be accessed any time directly on the Parent Portal. We encourage you to review your child's progress with them, celebrate their successes and set attainable goals for the next 10 weeks.

Our students celebrated a fun spirit week for Halloween and there were several original costumes for the annual Halloween contest. Our Student Association does a fantastic job of creating fun theme weeks for our entire school to enjoy. Our next theme week will be before the Winter Break.

SA is hosting a Canned Food Drive that will run December 1st-5th. Start stocking up now to help the teacher of your choice win the Canley Cup. Our schoolwide goal this year is to collect and donate 1700 items! 🥫

Our National Honor's Society students hosted a Veteran's Day Dinner for over 150 community members. The guests also enjoyed a special concert by the Mustang Marching Band. It was a huge success and a great way for our students to give back to those who have served to protect our country.

Student of the Month

Congratulations to Junior, Cassidy Janas, for earning October's Student of the Month. Cassidy was nominated by Mr. Giacomini and Mr. Bell who wrote the following about her:

I would like to nominate Cassidy Janas for student of the month. Cassidy comes into the classroom with a positive attitude each day and is ready to learn. She is a magnificent contributor to class discussions, and she is not afraid to ask the necessary questions to reinforce her understanding of a difficult concept. Additionally, she collaborates well with her peers and is willing to go the extra mile to help out a struggling classmate. Her effervescent personality and commitment to learning makes it easy to nominate her for student of the month.

Best,
Evan Giacomini
English 11 and 12 Teacher

I would second Cassidy Janas's nomination. She chose to challenge herself this year by taking AP US History and is doing very well in a very difficult course. She is displaying all of the attributes in my class that Evan spoke to.

Thanks!
PJ Bell

If you see Cassidy, be sure to congratulate her on this honor!
