Jr-Sr High School News 🎁

As we wind down 2025, we want to thank all of our families, teachers and staff for the work you do to support our students throughout the year. We have so many talented and hard working students in our building. In the past year, they have been awarded for their academic, athletic, musical, artistic, leadership, and entrepreneurship abilities. We also have countless students behind the scenes who may not always receive public recognition, but are working hard, being kind, and doing the right things. None of this is possible without the support from the amazing community that we live in.

A major area of celebration for us this school year are the beautiful new areas added to our building during the capital improvement project. The new band room and technology wing are state-of-the-art. Our swim team held their first meet at the new pool yesterday. We are looking forward to our grand opening of the new 7th/8th grade wing on Friday, 12/19 and the new chorus area after the break. We appreciate our student's patience as these projects come to an end.

From all of us at Medina Junior-Senior High School, we wish you and your family a joyous holiday season and a happy new year.

student of the month

Student of the Month

Congratulations to Sophomore, Phoenix Fisher, for earning November's Student of the Month sponsored by Filomena's Favorites. Phoenyx was nominated by Mr. Forrestel who wrote the following about him:

Mr. Forrestel reports that Phoenyx's transformation as a student over the last couple of years has been remarkable. He has gone from that kid who "hated school" to a young man who seems to be flourishing. He's happy to be coming to school and becoming noticeably more confident, both socially and academically. Just recently, I crossed paths with him, and I realized it was the middle of October, and I hadn't talked with Phoenyx once since school started. I asked him, "How is school going, Phoenyx?" He replied, "Been here every day! It's going great! My grades are up! I'm making friends!" It was one of those moments that can't help but put a smile on an educator's face! I checked his current grades and compared them to last year's final grades (which had already shown improvement from previous years), and he has raised his core subject averages by a combined 56 percentage points from last year's final grades!!! INCREDIBLE stuff, Phoenyx! Keep it rolling!!!

If you see Phoenyx, be sure to congratulate him.
