About Me:
Hello, I'm Mr. Byrne and this is my 23rd year teaching in Medina. I consider it an honor and privilege to teach in the Social Studies department at Medina Junior-High School.
I was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and attended McKinley Vocational H.S., studied at D'Youville College for my BA in History Secondary Education, and received my MS in Political Science from the University at Buffalo.
Educating young adults has always been a passion of mine and something I take very seriously. At the same time, learning needs to be fun and engaging in order for students to realize that what they are learning is relevant and meaningful to their lives.
History may be a primary interest of mine, but it is far from the only one. I am a fan of many sports, but my favorites are hockey and baseball. My favorite teams include the Sabres and Yankees. Reading, music, movies, television shows, coaching my son's travel hockey team, and road trips encompass much of my time. Even though I have many hobbies, nothing compares to spending time with my wife and son.
I'm sure over the course of the year you will learn much more about me and I will learn some things about you. I look forward to working with you the rest of the year and enjoying our time together.
